The Sons of the American Revolution are lineal descendants of a patriot who either fought for independence during the Revolutionary War or provided material aid for the cause. The objectives of our organization are intended to perpetuate a more profound reverence for the principles of the government founded by our forefathers.
The Mississippi Society is composed of over 300+ members with 10 local chapters divided between 3 districts. We are a proud member of the Southern District of the SAR, which is composed of the State Societies of Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
Local chapters sponsor several different youth contests to aid in our mission of preserving and teaching American History. Winners of the local chapter contests compete at the state level for the right to attend the National Convention.
Members also attend Naturalization ceremonies and recognize citizens that correctly display our National Colors (Flag) to promote patriotism.
